The two-day session included technical and marketing presentations on new developments in materials for the Wind Blade industry. Mr. Pradip Kumar Dubey, Senior President of the Epoxy business, made a presentation on Epoxy Resins: Latest Developments for Wind Blade Manufacturing, which covered next-generation epotec epoxy resins for defects, reduction in manufacturing cycle time and potential areas for improvement in wind blade manufacturing.

This seminar was highly successful and well received by all participants. ABC, together with OC and other co-suppliers of materials to the blade industry, looks forward to extending this initiative in other segments and complement each other.

Epoxy resin systems, comprising resins and hardeners, are widely used in wind blade manufacturing of blade shell as matrix, as an adhesive and for preparing moulds. It is estimated that approximately three tonnes of epoxy resin system is used per megawatt of blade. Epotec epoxy resins from ABC are widely used in the blade industry globally and are well recognized for their high quality and performance.
